My nose was originally a bit short and upturned, so my nostrils showed quite a lot from the front, and it was stressing me out, so I got nose surgery at a plastic surgery clinic. It’s been about two months now, and I think most of the major swelling has gone down!! There’s still some minor swelling left at the nasal tip, but I like it because my nose looks slim and naturally defined hahaha Before the surgery, the director checked how my nose changed both when my face was relaxed and when I smiled. They said that if proper support isn’t secured during short-nose surgery, the nose can lift up again later, so it’s important to know how to reinforce that area. Maybe because they used autologous costal cartilage and built the support in four layers, I don’t really feel like the nasal tip is dropping or that my nose spreads out when I smile. I was a bit scared of surgery, so I thought about trying a nose thread lift or nose filler, but I think I made the right choice by getting nose surgery instead of replacing it with something else. After getting my nose done, my mouth also looks less protruded, and overall my facial features look more balanced, so I’m happy with it. Everyone says there’s a lot of talk about getting mentally overwhelmed in the early period after surgery.. but after the surgery, the director showed me immediate photos of how the surgery had turned out, so I didn’t feel very anxious even during the time I had the splint on!!
