I’m here to write my day 3 review after getting the splint and nasal cotton removed! As you’ll know if you saw my previous post, it had been about 20 years since my surgery, and lately I had some translucency at the nasal tip and a foreign-body sensation, so I was going around for consultations just to check. They said my skin had become very thin, so I scheduled surgery right away and got it done.
To get straight to the conclusion, I really think I did the right thing.
First of all, the hospital where I had my original surgery had gone out of business, and it was done a long time ago, so there were no surgical records. But I didn’t remember having anything like cartilage taken, so based on the ultrasound I thought there was only an L-shaped implant. But besides that, there was also a round piece of silicone at the nasal tip...?^^... They said there must have been some inflammation too, because the capsule was extremely bumpy, so they removed everything.
During the consultation, it didn’t look that severe from the outside, but once they actually opened it up, they said the nasal tip had become thinner than expected and was just about to break through...? They said it seemed like I hadn’t really paid attention to it, so I probably didn’t know well lol...
Since the material went all the way into the nasal tip, I was really scared that my nose would become upturned after removal, and I emphasized that a lot during the pre-op consultation too. But after getting the splint removed today, I like the shape for now! There is some swelling though. It actually even seems like it came down slightly more than my previous nose? haha
I had my original nose done when I was a student, so it was a long time ago and I don’t really remember it either.
Honestly, regardless of the shape, it feels so refreshing and relieving to have it removed, so I’m happy haha..
I felt that removal surgery absolutely had to be done at a hospital with many removal cases, so I did it at one of the three major places, and after booking the surgery I didn’t look up any more reviews at all. Even the internal medicine clinic in front of my house that I go to often has bad Kakao reviews lolololol. Since 100% satisfaction can’t exist, I think I only kept thinking that I should get the surgery before something serious happened.
Anyway... I got excited after the cotton was removed, so this got long. I’ll come back to write another review in about a week.
+ Since there are a lot of comments asking about the hospital, I’ll add this: it’s one of the three major places, and it’s the one that checks with ultrasound during the consultation. If you’ve been there for a consultation or have seen just a few reviews, you’ll know where it is...!
