After always just writing comments or lurking, I’m finally writing a review too. About 20 years ago, when I was a minor, I had double eyelid surgery and canthoplasty done medically at an ophthalmology clinic. Even though I had hidden double eyelids, my eyelashes were poking my eyes so badly that I was stressed enough to even pluck them out. The surgery went well, and I lived satisfied with it, but as I got older, my eye shape started changing little by little. It felt like my eyes looked a bit heavy and stuffy? So I thought maybe it was because I hadn’t had ptosis correction back then, so I went to another plastic surgery clinic and had non-incisional ptosis correction while keeping the double eyelid shape as it was. But my eyes looked like they were opened way too wide. I prefer a natural look, but it felt like eyes that had become too big from surgery. So after 2 weeks, I had the ptosis correction threads removed and restored, and I wondered if there was another method. While looking into upper canthoplasty, I found out about diagonal canthoplasty. The chief director had personally written and presented papers, and it seemed like he personally did both the consultation and the surgery, and had pride in it, so I went for a consultation. He didn’t talk at length. He said it seemed harder for me to open my eyes because there was fat in my eyelids, and since both sides were uneven, we should adjust that and do just a little. After the consultation, I booked the surgery right away! (Honestly, because I do administrative work, I tend to be wary and suspicious of people, but I actually liked that the director spoke plainly. Some people might see him as a bit blunt, but to me that made him seem less like a scammer lolololol) I had the surgery two days later, and on the first day I was so swollen that my eyes didn’t look human, they looked like animal eyes lololololol. I was like, how can this be, did it fail? and I searched like crazy that day in a community for what other people did when their surgery failed lolol, with my mind all over the place lol. But from the next day, I looked human again lolol. There wasn’t much swelling, but I had severe bruising. I think I bruise easily in general. So I diligently applied bruise cream around my eyes. And today I got the stitches removed, and I’m very satisfied. First, it became more comfortable to open my eyes. For me, the cosmetic aspect matters, but I also really wanted the functional aspect to improve. That improved, and I feel like I open my eyes with less force in my forehead lol. I guess I had a lot of fat in my eyelids lolol. Second, it preserved my own vibe well. Overall, I have a round, soft impression, so I hoped that feeling wouldn’t be ruined. Sometimes when canthoplasty goes wrong, the impression changes and becomes sharp, or there are cases where it kind of looks like strabismus or a blank-looking face? But I think he preserved my character well hehe. I’m uploading before-and-after photos taken today after getting the stitches removed. I hope everyone judges carefully and becomes prettier naturally!
