I had rhinoplasty with the student discount and came back after getting the splint removed, and it turned out better than I expected! I was thinking of going implant-free, but they said my radix was low and my nasal tip was already high, so raising only the tip would not look pretty, and that they could not operate that way. I wanted an implant-free surgery because I was worried about silicone side effects, but other hospitals had said they would do it. Instead, because they said they would not do it, I trusted them more for being firm about it.
The consultant also empathized well and spoke to me comfortably, so even though I was nervous after going alone from out of town, I talked a lot, and it was a consultation I did not regret! So I think I pulled myself together and made the decision so I would not be too easily swayed.
I had heard that if osteotomy is done, you may not be able to breathe, so I did not want it, but they said they would not do it excessively, so I went ahead. For the nasal bridge, I had 4.5 mm silicone; for the nasal tip, septal cartilage + donated rib cartilage; plus hump correction and osteotomy. I had heard there would be no sensation in the nasal tip, but it was not completely numb. After the cotton was removed, my sense of smell and taste both came back 100%, so I was relieved. Except when sleeping, I stayed sitting up, and because I iced frequently up to my forehead, I did not have any blood pooling! (If you have a lot of nasal discharge, take medicine for it.)
Since it was a bulbous nose, I did not have high expectations and went into surgery thinking, “Let’s just make it even a little better!” But I am so satisfied, and I hope the swelling goes down quickly so I can put on makeup I was worried because it is not a place that is always on people’s consultation lists, but I am writing this review right away in case it helps people like me even a little.
