When the nasal ala looks lower after only alar base reduction

A few days ago, I only had alar base reduction surgery. The nasal tip and bridge were not touched, and it was an alar base reduction with internal and external incisions. But after surgery, it doesn’t just feel like only the nostril wings got smaller; the overall lower shape of my nose looks different, and the nasal ala actually looks lower. I’m really worried because it doesn’t feel like only the nostrils became smaller, but like the position of the nasal ala itself has changed. I asked the consultant, and they said that right now it’s because of swelling and I need to wait longer, but when I search, there don’t seem to be many cases where the nasal ala looks lower, so I’m even more anxious. After alar base reduction, are there actually cases where the nasal ala looks lower because of swelling and then goes back up? Also, I’m worried that the alar area looks thicker/more plump.
