Eye Surgery Considerations

Even after revision rhinoplasty

During my first surgery, my side profile was okay. But they had sunken my originally normal columella.. and from the front, it looked a bit spread out. It wasn’t extremely bothersome as long as I didn’t get greedy, so I just lived with it, but after 7-8 years passed, it gradually deviated to the left, my nasal obstruction and rhinitis got worse, and I couldn’t lift my head because of the crookedness I needed revision surgery as soon as possible, but I had been so traumatized by the first surgery that I couldn’t decide..

My guess is that my first surgery was done by a pay doctor. You know how they anesthetize several people in advance and go around the operating rooms doing surgeries? I feel like that’s exactly what happened to me. A friend went with me at the time, and apparently the surgery time went way over, and everyone who went in around a similar time had come out, but I was the only one who didn’t, so my friend even asked the front desk. When I woke up, I had even urinated in my pants, and I could barely call a nurse because my voice wouldn’t come out, but she didn’t answer and just brushed me off rudely.... I really thought, am I going to die like this.. I still can’t forget that fear. And after surgery, they’re supposed to wake you up somehow so you don’t fall asleep, right? I was just sleeping and left unattended... It was insane.

On top of that, they wouldn’t let my guardian into the recovery room, but they treated the Chinese patient next to me who had surgery so well. A whole big family came in and kept chattering in Chinese They looked over the curtain and stared at me too, like they were looking at an exhibit at a zoo

So I finally worked up the courage to decide on a second surgery and went around for consultations, and they quoted me 9-10 million won. The conclusion was that my nose needed to be fixed internally too. I really made a huge decision and had my second surgery after 10 years. I had it done at a hospital with an otolaryngology specialist, and the reason I chose that place was because they were confident they could completely correct the crookedness! And of course the nasal obstruction too.

It has already been 2 years since that surgery, and to just give the conclusion, it deviated again^^ I did it without an implant, so the shape is uneven and both sides look so different, and the center of my nasal bridge is sunken in, so I had filler put in.. And my nose is still blocked... I spent almost 10 million won, but now I’ve just given up The shape is longer than before, but they couldn’t fix the deviation or the sunken columella. I still have to go get laser treatment as aftercare, but I still haven’t gone because it’s hard to face the doctor I want to confront them and ask why they made promises they couldn’t keep, and I want a refund, but I don’t feel confident I can win against a hospital, and just thinking about raising my voice makes me mentally break down

There must definitely be many people like me... If they can’t fix it, why are they so confident during the consultation? Why are they so different before and after surgery, that’s what I’m saying If there happens to be a third surgery in my life, I don’t even know what to trust or how to choose then... I don’t know. Sigh, I’m sick of this.

Anyway...... the message I want to convey is, unless you have an upturned nose or a very bulbous nose, don’t touch it........ If it’s just that level, live gratefully with it. If I could turn back time, I would absolutely never get surgery.... Even if it may look a bit higher on the outside, it’s only a matter of time before the inside collapses, and contracture comes no matter what; the timing just differs from person to person. Before surgery, I had a perfectly normal basic nose with nothing to nitpick But once a knife touched it, it got ruined like this...

Will people who had surgery, including me, be able to keep their current noses without deformation into their 50s and 60s? Absolutely not. Hospitals don’t tell you that. I had surgery with the mindset of, who cares when I’m old.. But the problems came faster than I expected, and I don’t even know if my body at that time will be able to withstand revision surgery!

Everyone, have a happy day!!!! I wrote this to prevent a second me from happening! Be careful not to catch a cold~
