I didn’t leave the inflammation untreated. I had open irrigation, silicone removal, and antibiotic treatment, and the rib cartilage is still remaining. It has been about 3 weeks since the removal, but one side of my nose is lifting upward and the pinching is severe, so the nostril asymmetry is really bad. Even if you respond right away by irrigating and removing the silicone instead of leaving the inflammation alone, can contracture still occur? I really hope this is just part of the scar tissue recovery process, and that the tissue softens and the pinched nose comes back down. If anyone has had a similar experience, please let me know.
