I had cartilage tying and cap grafting without an implant, and the alar cartilage on the nostril side is protruding like the red mark in the photo. When I looked it up, people said it protrudes because my alar cartilages were brought together from the cartilage tying. It’s been a little over 4 months, and my nasal ala still feels a bit firm, so I wonder if it’s because of this. If I get it removed, would cartilage repositioning make it go in a bit? Or since it’s only been 4 months, will it go in more as time passes and the scar tissue decreases? But is this a normal phenomenon that happens to everyone who has cartilage tying?
