Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

Is it essential to leave a support strut in for total removal?

I had osteotomy for a hump nose. Right now I have autologous costal cartilage and silicone in, and when I went for consultations, everyone said the support strut has to be left in. They said otherwise it would collapse, become a saddle nose, and spread out. I don’t have high expectations for cartilage repositioning, since I feel like it will spread out again over time. But cartilage tying scares me too, because I heard a lot of noses end up pinched.

What I want is to remove everything completely, whether it’s autologous costal cartilage or whatever else. But is it already irreversible at this point? I’m scared because they said my whole nose could collapse and I could get columellar retraction.
