I wrote a long post and it got wiped twice ㅡㅡ;; I’m gathering my strength to write again,,,, I had cheekbone surgery through a scalp incision and square-jaw surgery through an intraoral incision on the 24th,,,,,,After more than 30 years of getting annoyed every day whenever I looked in the mirror, it’s now hard to even find my cheekbones ㅋㅋ For about five months before that, I became interested in facial contouring and visited this community almost every day,,At first I was in a completely ignorant state and only closely read the posts from people who said they turned out beautifully, but there were also many people suffering from various side effects,,,,,,So after looking into it a lot, I realized that surgery method is just as important as choosing the hospital,,,,,,,As you probably all know,,side effects such as cheek sagging or hollowness that can come from minimal incisions or intraoral incisions ....To be a little freer from those kinds of side effects, I had surgery using the scalp-incision method,,,,, Of course, at first I was afraid just from the idea of a scalp incision and thought of it as something like brain surgery, but after looking into it in detail, I realized there was no need to be scared,,,,,What’s really scary is the side effects, right,,,A scalp incision is made in an M shape from behind the ears to the crown of the head, exposing the forehead and allowing the surgeon to see the cheekbones directly and perform the operation accurately, and I understand that there are no side effects such as cheek sagging...The downsides would be the scalp scar and the fear of surgery,,,but I heard that after about a year even the scalp scar becomes so subtle that a hair salon wouldn’t notice it......That’s better than suffering through all kinds of side effects~~ I couldn’t sleep the night before surgery,,,,I was worried for no reason and nervous,,,,On the day of surgery they told me to come by 9 o’clock, but because there were also people saying they were late, my sister and I hurried over and arrived before 8 a.m.,,,,,The hospital doors weren’t even open yet, so I chatted with my sister on the stairs for a long time,,,,,Then finally I met the doctor, had my hair braided (the part to be incised), took photos, and since the anesthesia doctor said he would be about 20 minutes late,,,,my sister and I were giggling and taking pictures, saying the braided hair looked stylish ㅋㅋ,,,,,,, Finally, the operating room.......The anesthesia doctor said, Have you had surgery before? The drugs are going in now, you’ll feel a bit sore,,,,and at that very moment everything went black,,,,,blank ㅡㅡ I woke up because my sister kept telling me to cough, and the surgery was already over,,,The cheekbone and square-jaw surgery took four and a half hours,,,It was literally over in the blink of an eye ㅋㅋ,,,,,My sister said the cheekbones she had long wished for were now tucked away and gone, and that now only her own household was raising cheekbones ㅋㅋ,,,,,When I woke up from anesthesia I felt nauseous and retched, and the doctor said that because the surgery had gone cleanly with almost no bleeding, I wouldn’t be vomiting,,,I think it was the anesthesia gas that made me feel sick and kept the nausea going,,,, After I calmed down a bit, they finished by suturing the area beside my ear and pressing firmly on the wound inside my mouth to complete the treatment,,,They showed me a mirror, and I was amazed at where that huge cheekbone had gone ㅎㅎ,,,I kept holding my sister’s hand and walking back and forth through the hospital hallway dozens of times, just trying to settle my upset stomach and gather the strength to go home,,,,,The doctor was busy continuing consultations with other patients,,,and around 6:30 p.m. my brother-in-law safely took me home When I got home I kept feeling nauseous, so I couldn’t sleep all night, and by Tuesday morning my stomach had calmed down a bit, so I drank water and pumpkin juice,,,My throat was swollen and painful, so eating was hard, but it seems people are somehow made to keep living ㅎㅎ I ate hard with the determination that I had to keep myself going, and I worked hard at doing compresses too,,,,,My sister, feeling sorry for me, even fetched water herself and washed my hands and feet for me. I was deeply moved ^^* After that long Tuesday passed, yesterday the swelling came up a lot and one eye was only about half open,,,,,Still, I kept trying pumpkin juice, rice gruel, soy milk, and later even broth made from scorched rice,,and I did my best with the foul-smelling Hexamedine too,,,,It really felt like the day was endless,,,,,,I expected that by today the swelling would be at its peak and I wouldn’t even be able to open my eyes, but unexpectedly the swelling is now going down,,,,,,The swelling has gone down for about half of my face, including the cheekbone area, but my cheeks and mouth are still puffy like a catfish,,,,,, My sister, who had been afraid of the scalp-incision method itself, said she thought she might get surgery too and that it was amazing to be discharged the same day after such a big operation and still seem fine,,,,,The swelling seems less than I expected, and even the throat pain is easing, so I’m feeling much better,,,,The only uncomfortable things are that it’s hard to sleep lying down, and since I doze off while sitting up I can’t really sleep well, so that’s inconvenient,,,,,At home I walk around often for exercise too...... How successful the surgery was will only become clear with more time,,,but since all my sensation is still there and the swelling isn’t too bad, I think it went well,,,I’m thinking of getting my stitches removed in a week and posting photos once I look a bit more like a human face......Thank you for reading such a long post,,,and since it’s raining a lot, everyone please be careful to avoid rain damage and stay healthy^^*
