I really did a ton of research here and also went to consult at several hospitals in person, and although there doesn’t seem to be any sign of contracture or inflammation yet, I was told that since it’s been a long time since the surgery, over 10 years, it wouldn’t be bad to have it removed if I want it removed. But honestly, if it were up to me, I’d want to do a full open removal and feel completely at ease, but the recovery period would be too long if I did that. I think I’d need to assume at least a full month for recovery to feel comfortable.
