How is closed reduction for deviated septum?ㅠㅠ

These days, when it’s called a deviated septum, I heard it’s generally treated with open reduction, meaning they make an incision, directly set the bone, then insert an implant and do cosmetic correction together. But when I went to a university hospital, they said it would absolutely be closed reduction, with no concern for aesthetics, and that they’d insert a metal rod into the nostril and only externally set the boneㅠ Has anyone had this done?
