9 Months After Facial Contouring Surgery! (Iyoo Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Kim Jong-yoon …

It has already been 9 months since I had facial contouring surgery. When I first decided to have the surgery, I was scared and had a lot of worries, but now, every time I look in the mirror, I think I really made the right choice. I find myself looking back step by step on the changes I have gone through from right after surgery until now. Right after the surgery, everything felt so hectic. As soon as the anesthesia wore off, my throat felt extremely scratchy, and my face was so swollen that I did not even have the courage to look in the mirror. The inside of my mouth felt tight and the swelling was severe, so it was hard to speak properly. Honestly, there were moments back then when I wondered why I had done this. But I think I held on, trusting the one thing people said: that it would get better with time. After 1 month, I started to feel small changes. The swelling began to go down noticeably, and my face in the mirror started to look more refined little by little. After the stitches inside my mouth were removed, eating became much more comfortable, and I had recovered enough to put on simple makeup. People around me only asked whether I had lost weight, but that somehow made me feel good. It was fascinating that my face had naturally become smaller without looking obviously surgical. After 3 months, my face shape had clearly changed. The swelling around my cheekbones had almost completely gone down, and as my jawline became smoother, my overall impression became softer. Sensation in the surgical areas was gradually returning, and every time I put on makeup, my facial contour showed beautifully, so I felt very satisfied with it myself. In the past, I used to be bothered by comments that my face looked angular and broad, but now I could barely even remember what my face looked like back then. Around 6 months, it felt like I had almost fully recovered. Nearly all the swelling was gone, and I had no discomfort when eating or speaking. When I took photos, my face was definitely smaller, and the lines connected so naturally that I no longer thought of it as a surgically altered face. It just felt like my original face, I guess. From then on, I felt relieved, thinking, “Ah, it’s really over now.” And now, at 9 months, everything has become really natural. My facial lines have settled softly and neatly, so I look good in photos from any angle. People still only say that I have lost a lot of weight, and they do not think at all that I had surgery. Every morning when I look in the mirror, I see a slim face instead of the broad-looking face I used to have, so my days feel enjoyable and my self-esteem has gone up. At first I was scared, but now I think it was truly a good decision. It required time and a recovery process, but the satisfaction I gained was just as great. If there are people who are worried or stressed about their face shape like I used to be, I think there will definitely come a moment with time when you feel that this was the right path. Now, 9 months later, I live every day feeling that moment.
