It has already been 9 months since I had double-jaw surgery. I had my surgery with Director Kim Jong-yoon at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and the surgical method was double-jaw surgery. At first, my whole face was very swollen and I had a lot of pain, so I wondered, “Why did I do this?” but now I’ve changed so much that it can’t even be compared to back then. Now I have almost no discomfort in daily life, I can eat well, and the awkwardness when speaking has decreased a lot. There is still a very tiny amount of swelling left, but to people around me it’s not noticeable at all. Especially when I take selfies, I can feel that my jawline has become more natural and the overall balance of my face has improved a lot, so I’m really satisfied. I also often hear that my side-profile line has changed. I’m still undergoing orthodontic treatment, but as my tooth alignment is settling, my impression when I smile has become much softer. In the early period after surgery, it was stressful because closing my mouth was uncomfortable, but now I can close my mouth comfortably and my posture has also stabilized. Around 3 to 6 months post-op, my sensation was dull, but now a lot of sensation has returned to my gums and the area around my mouth. What I want to say to those who are considering double-jaw surgery is that it is hard at first and the recovery process can feel long, but if you have surgery with Director Kim Jong-yoon at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the results and satisfaction are truly great. If you decide after long consideration like I did, I can confidently say it will be a choice you won’t regret. Now, 9 months after surgery, I finally feel like I’ve returned to daily life, and the anxiety and stress I had before surgery have almost all disappeared. My goal is to finish the remaining orthodontic process well and fully recover with an even more natural and pretty appearance.
