As you can see from my previous post, deviated septum / inferior turbinate - functional nose surgery For the nasal tip, I used autologous costal cartilage + a thin 0.4 mm layer of MegaDerm on the nasal bridge to reinforce the step-off. At first, I was worried because the nasal bridge looked too high because of the MegaDerm, but the director said it was laid thinly just to reinforce the step-off, so it would slowly all be absorbed. In reality, it is gradually being absorbed, so I think I do not need to worry. Maybe because I originally thought my nasal bridge was already high, it still feels high even now. I think all the major and minor swelling throughout the nose has gone down, and I really feel that I made the right choice not using silicone. I would like to recommend this to people who already have some nasal bridge height. First of all, I am so happy that I can breathe through both nostrils, so all I can think is that I am glad I had the surgery. Before surgery, how did I live while breathing through my mouth? I cannot even remember. As the swelling in the nasal tip line goes down, the points I emphasized to the director are starting to show, and I like it. (I requested something quite picky: a nose that looks slightly like a foreign nose with a subtly upturned nasal tip, but not burdensome, and only noticeable when seen up close.) There are times when I wonder, is the nasal tip a little high? But people around me say that from the front, the nostrils show less, and that the height fits three-dimensionally with my face, which has a slightly protruding mouth and cheekbones, so I am not worrying about it too much. I just hope the MegaDerm on the nasal bridge absorbs a little faster haha. I heard it can continue to go down even after more than a year, and that the absorption period differs from person to person, so I am waiting. Before surgery, I wondered if using autologous costal cartilage would make it extremely hard and something I would have to take special care of for the rest of my life. It is hard, but it is not as uncomfortable as I expected. Now I am used to it, and it feels like my own nose. The area where the rib cartilage was harvested did not hurt either, and the scar is gradually becoming lighter. It does not really bother me. Overall, I am very satisfied in both functional and cosmetic aspects. I did not get too greedy about the height, shape, and so on, but I am grateful to Director Seo Seung-jo for giving me the best possible result. My review is late because I have been living happily with the result, but I hope you see this.
