2-Week Review After Functional Rhinoplasty in Busan

I had only been thinking for a long time that I wanted rhinoplasty, but this Chuseok holiday was long, so I thought, this is it!! I figured I wouldn’t have time to get rhinoplasty except now! I went for consultations at three plastic surgery clinics in Seomyeon, and I searched a community, Naver cafes, cosmetic surgery apps, and so on for functional rhinoplasty and cosmetic rhinoplasty in Busan, spending a long time researching online and visiting places in person. There were so many ads and planted posts that I had quite a hard time filtering them out..ㅜ.ㅜ When I looked at review photos online, there were many clinics with the nose shape and aesthetic I wanted, but when I actually went for consultations, for some reason I felt like, huh..? or I just wasn’t really drawn to them. So I wondered if I should just not get rhinoplasty, but then I went to I&Co Plastic Surgery in Seomyeon, the last consultation I had booked, and after the consultation I came out having reserved a surgery date as if I’d been spellbound! Since I went with an appointment, there was no waiting; I immediately had a CT scan and had a consultation with the director, and I asked everything I was curious about. For what was possible, he said it was possible, and for what wasn’t, he had an expression like he wasn’t very keen on it ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ After that, I consulted with the manager about the cost and other detailed additional parts, and she spoke so honestly that I think that may have been where I got a bit spellbound.. She told me to look into several other places and decide carefully, but I was already spellbound, so I just scheduled the surgery date and came out. I had a deviated septum, enlarged nasal turbinates, and rhinitis, so I proceeded with functional rhinoplasty + cosmetic rhinoplasty together. Because it was functional nose surgery, I went about 2 weeks before surgery? and had an olfactory test and blood test! For the cosmetic purpose, I was only thinking of doing the nasal tip, but I ended up following the director and manager’s recommendation for silicone.. On the day of surgery, I went in and had one more design consultation with the director! Then surgery started. I had sedation anesthesia and fell asleep in less than a minute. Around when the surgery was finishing up, the anesthesia wore off slightly, so it hurt a little. Still, it wasn’t unbearable! They also gave me a pain-control injection, so there was no pain at all after surgery. Because they had put cotton packing in my nose, I had to breathe only through my mouth for 3 days, and this was really, really... pretty hard..ㅋ ㅠ.. And after the surgery, the hospital also gave me a separate kit (dry shampoo, cleansing tissues, pumpkin juice, lip balm, etc.), and the operating room staff and the third-floor desk staff were so kind, so I liked that~! I’m sure everyone is like this, but for me too, swelling was at its peak for days 1-3, and I was so swollen that I didn’t want to look in the mirror. After surgery, they called me in every 1-2 days for aftercare, and kept checking the condition of my nose!! On day 3 or day 4, I had the cotton removed and could finally live, and when the splint was removed on day 7 and I saw my nose for the first time, there was some Ae-bong-looking person there, and I can’t tell you how shocked I was;; My swelling and bruising are on the severe side, so the director said we should keep the splint on for about one more week, so I removed the splint in week 2, and the swelling had definitely gone down a lot compared to day 7. Breathing also became more comfortable than before. I worried a lot that the incision scar on my nose might leave a mark, but since I’ve been diligently applying the ointment they gave me, it has already faded. Overall, I’m satisfied with the nose design too! I got a nasal bridge that I didn’t have before ㅋㅋㅋ But one thing I feel is a bit disappointing is that before going into surgery, I did think it would have been nice if the design consultation time with the director had been a little longer..ㅠ After rhinoplasty ended, I found out how many millimeters of silicone had been inserted, so I was a bit like, oh..? Since the silicone was inserted higher than I expected, my bridge is still a bit high and my eyes look a little close together, but I think it will be okay once the swelling goes down. Everyone says that with rhinoplasty, you have to watch it for as long as 6 months ㅋㅋㅋ And with all cosmetic surgery, you only know after the swelling goes down~~~!
