Rhinitis, deviated septum, bulbous nose, silicone, autologous costal cartilage, etc. From after the Silastic was removed at week 2, inflammation started coming from inside the columella. No bacteria were detected on the bacterial test. I took antibiotics and antimicrobial medication and calmed the inflammation down.. For 6 months, my nose kept swelling and going down repeatedly, the columella curled inward more, one nostril became distorted, the nasal asymmetry got severe, and the swelling would not go down. It was in a big swollen nose state. Not only the cosmetic result but also the function failed. One nostril was completely blocked for breathing Inside both nostrils was a mess because of scar tissue and swelling from inflammation.. Continuing in-clinic treatment was too hard, so I just asked them to remove the silicone. At 6 months, in March 2025, they removed the silicone and irrigated it. The inflammation and awful smell disappeared, but I became like Voldemort. My columella disappeared. They said they would do an AS revision again 6 months later, but my trust was already zero... I started looking into other hospitals. Clinics specializing in revision rhinoplasty I had consultations at three places! What I found out after the consultations! It was not a silicone side effect.. All three directors said that. It seemed to have been an infection during surgery or a bacterial infection through the wound right after surgery. All three places said silicone could be used again. But I did not want to use silicone anymore, so I said I wanted to do everything with autologous costal cartilage. Among the three, this clinic said autologous costal cartilage was possible not only for the nasal tip but also for the nasal bridge, and the consultation felt the most trustworthy.. The direction they pursued also matched what I wanted the best. And I liked that the consultant did not feel salesy. I liked that the clinic was not too busy.. Rather than a place with too many patients and too much chaos, it felt like they focused on each person, which I liked.. Autologous costal cartilage for the nasal bridge and tip, columella improvement, alar reduction, bulbous nose improvement, etc. After the consultation, I decided on same-day surgery and even had the preoperative tests. I had already suffered so much emotionally because of last year's failed surgery, so even on the train to Seoul on the day of surgery, I wondered a million times whether I should cancel it.. I was worried inflammation might happen again and worried I might suffer again, and I got on the operating table with that worry and anxiety. The staff in the operating room and treatment room were all kind and explained things well.. When I had surgery last year, the bruising was really big and lasted a long time, but this time I did not bruise at all lol. And my face swelling was much less too! Until the nasal packing was removed, it hurt a lot, but once the packing was removed, the pain and swelling dropped sharply. +Day 7, the day the splint was removed There was Avatar Squidward in the mirror lol But I had a columella lolol Happiness... But I could not feel relieved because I did not know when inflammation might appear. I spent every day anxiously.. Lots of eye ointment so it would not get infected, being careful not to let water touch near my nose, not picking boogers, etc. +Day 14, internal stitches and Silastic removal My left nostril, which had been blocked for a year, opened right up (after last year's surgery at another hospital, I could not breathe through my left nostril). I was so, so happy!! At 2 weeks after surgery, there is still plenty of swelling, but I have a columella!! The nasal tip is still very swollen. I expect the nasolabial angle will get better once the swelling goes down.. The blocked nostril opened!!! I can breathe so freaking well. When I had surgery at another hospital last year, all the symptoms disappeared: columella curling inward, inflammation, smell, the inside of my nose full of scar tissue, silicone foreign-body sensation, and being unable to breathe through my left nostril~~~~~~~~!! Because last year's failed surgery made me completely mentally distressed, after this surgery I became sensitive and nervous even about small symptoms, stayed up all night looking for reviews and could not sleep, but here, the consultant and staff contacted me promptly and reassured me.... Before I sleep, I should bow once toward the clinic.. Thank you.. They said there is something like an autologous costal cartilage guarantee system. So I am leaving this review as a record? materials?.. I will record again later when all the swelling has gone down..
