I’m someone who had worn glasses my whole life since first grade of elementary school. When I was 20, I wanted to get LASIK/LASEK, so while I was going to an ophthalmology clinic near my house for an eye exam, I casually asked if LASIK was possible, and the doctor said, without even one second of hesitation, “With eyesight this bad, you can’t.” ㅠㅠ I lived half-giving up, but I really didn’t want to live my whole life wearing these glasses, so I went around researching and getting consultations for implantable contact lens surgery... I visited about 4 places and decided to have surgery with the director at ㅈㅇㅅ, then had the surgery.. Honestly, it felt factory-style... It would be hard to say it wasn’t, because there were really a lot of patients, and the director went to operate on one of my eyes, then went to operate on someone else’s eye, then came back and operated on my other eye. (But this wasn’t neglect; originally with implantable contact lens surgery, after operating on one eye, they have to check whether intraocular pressure rises, so the order is one eye surgery -> rest -> other eye surgery.) It really was like that lol Pain was just a little when the anesthesia wore off on the day of surgery? When I came out after surgery, my vision was cloudy, so I thought the surgery had gone wrong and felt really down, but the next day, as soon as I woke up, I found the light and went “Eureka” lol As a review, honestly, even if I thought it over 10 times, I naturally said 11 times that I did the right thing.... The downsides are that I can’t wash my face roughly (not to the point that I can’t remove makeup, but the old-man-style splashing wash is a no) and I can’t rub my eyes?? I was originally the type to rub my eyes often lol And the brutal price. Honestly, aside from this, I’m truly satisfied with everything!! For people with severe astigmatism, I recommend implantable contact lens surgery over LASIK/LASEK!!!
