My cornea was too thin, so I went with PRK. From the night of the surgery, the anesthesia wore off, and the feeling was like cutting onions and having spicy, stinging eyes? Usually people say at first it hurts like there’s sand rolling around in your eyes and then it quickly gets much better, but for me that sharp, burning pain where I couldn’t open my eyes lasted for a week…. I thought the surgery had gone wrong. Anyway, I’ve worn glasses since elementary school and my vision was so bad it was around -5 to -6, but now I’m so, so comfortable. People say doctors themselves don’t get LASIK/PRK and all that, but I don’t care, it’s just way too comfortable. Things I love: 1. When traveling, I don’t need to pack contact lens cases, saline, or glasses, so my luggage is lighter. 2. I can fall asleep right after going out. Before, I couldn’t even nap until I took out my lenses. 3. Prep time is shorter. 4. I save money on contacts. 5. I don’t have to go through the whole “take off my glasses, set them down, then look for them” process. So happy~~
