Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

This is my 9-month review after double-jaw surgery at Yangyundol~~!

<Before><Before><After><After><After><After><After>First, I had double-jaw surgery at Yangyundol last November Time has already passed like this, and I’m writing my 9-month review now haha Before surgery, I had a protruding lower jaw, a long face, malocclusion, and so on Because of that, I really had no confidence, and when I was younger, I was teased a lot. After becoming an adult, my self-esteem also hit rock bottom, I wore a mask every day, and even when I took photos, I always edited them, only took straight-on photos no matter what, and cared a lot about other people’s gazes and things like that. More than anything, my side profile stressed me out so, so much. So I decided to get the surgery that I had only kept thinking about in my mind. I worked hard going around for consultations, and then I had a consultation at Yangyundol. First of all, what I liked most was that they didn’t pressure me into surgery. They explained in detail how the necessary parts could be improved, honestly told me which parts were unnecessary, and more than anything, I trusted that the director had a lot of surgical experience and had handled many different cases, and that it was an oral and maxillofacial specialty hospital. At the end of the consultation, the director said, “Even if you don’t do it at our hospital, I hope it goes well wherever you do it.” I felt sincerity in those words, and I think that made me decide, ah, I should do it here. After getting the surgery, my 2-night stay in the hospital room began. First, at Yangyundol, they said they only perform surgery on one person a day, and since it was a private room, it was nice that I could be comfortably in pain? lololol It was nice that when I pressed the bell, the nurse came right away. After those hellish 2 nights passed, I was discharged and came home, and from that day I started swelling a lot. Just when I wondered if I could finally manage a bit, the war against swelling began. It was also so hard that I couldn’t comfortably lie down and sleep My nose and mouth were swollen, so it was hard to breathe too I drank a little New Care every day, took my medicine faithfully, and took walks three times a day. I also used ice packs all day, did mouth-opening exercises, and diligently drank sweet pumpkin juice. As time gradually passed, the swelling really slowly went down, the things I could eat began to increase, and the major swelling was almost all gone after about 6 months. Now that I’m at 9 months, even the minor swelling is almost all gone, I can open my mouth fully, and I’m living while eating whatever I want as much as I want haha I think about it every day, but I really think I did well getting the surgery, and I also think I should have done it sooner. From before surgery, I had all kinds of worries and anxiety, and even after surgery, I kept thinking and worrying, “It didn’t go wrong, right? Everything will be okay later, right?” But now I’m so, so satisfied to the point that I wonder when I ever felt that way, and the biggest change is that my confidence and self-esteem have both gone up a lot. These days, every person I meet says things like, “Your face is small,” “Were your eyes always that big?” and “Why did you get so pretty?” At first it was awkward, but now I’m enjoying it lol And now I don’t wear a mask even when the fine dust is bad lolololol I don’t even look at masks! And when taking photos, I don’t care whether someone takes my picture or not, and I take almost only side-profile or diagonal-angle photos rather than front-facing ones. I also go well to crowded places, and I’m living very satisfied. I’m really, really grateful to the director who performed my surgery, who tells me at every progress check that it turned out so well and that I’ve become brighter, and I’m also so grateful to the nurses who took care of me. For those who are considering surgery similarly to me, I hope you don’t be too afraid and try to have courage. The pain is temporary. Just think about the days when you’ll be satisfied and walk around confidently, and stay strong!! The director will take care of everything safely and well haha Oh, for reference, I told them I wanted it to look natural, and I showed reference photos that were as natural as possible!
