<Wide nose before surgery><After bulbous nose surgery>*This is not a post recommending rhinoplasty *I only shared what I personally went through.. No generalizing *Since I used autologous costal cartilage, everyone who isn’t considering autologous cartilage probably doesn’t need to read this The frontal view + improving the bulbous nose were the most important, and for materials, from the start I preferred autologous costal cartilage over donated rib cartilage For me, using someone else’s tissue kept bothering me.... and it was important that the shape be maintained for a long time *After consultations All the clinics recommended autologous costal cartilage, and among them, 3 suggested mixing septal cartilage or other materials Since it was my first surgery, I wanted to use as little nasal material as possible, so I was much more drawn to places that used autologous costal cartilage alone Among them, I ended up having surgery without an implant at the only place that took an X-ray to check the condition of my autologous costal cartilage *After surgery (week 1) I guess I expected too much and got ahead of myself. Aside from swelling and bruising, in the beginning it was so uncomfortable that I honestly wondered if I had done it for nothing... My throat got much drier than I expected. That was the first time I realized what it meant for my lips to get chapped I kept applying lip balm, and even though it didn’t hurt, it was uncomfortable, so I just didn’t want to go outside *Week 2 Stitches removed, splint taken off, cotton removed, etc.. I did go whenever they told me to, but honestly this is subtly super annoying I felt anxious not going... And since they harvested my autologous costal cartilage, the clinic gave me an abdominal binder for free, which was nice, but it was more annoying than I expected, so I didn’t really wear it much. But I think that’s just me When the splint came off, I was shocked because of the sebum and blackheads on my nose... As for the nose itself, considering the swelling, it looked better than I expected *Now (over 4 weeks) It’s gradually settling into the shape the director had shown me with Photoshop My satisfaction with the nose shape is over 90%... the bulbous nose improvement is beyond what I imagined, and maybe because I also had nostril reduction, it looks much slimmer But the area under my nose is still hard. It’s something that gets better with time, but I notice it every time I touch it I’ll write another review after about 6 months.. if I’m not too lazy then..
