After spending almost 2 years researching online and going to consultations for rhinoplasty and agonizing over it, I finally got nostril reduction.. The reasons are 1. My aesthetic preference changed Originally, even if it looked a bit obvious, I wanted a glamorous, high nose, but the more I looked into surgery, the more the distinctive surgical-looking line kept standing out to me, you know? That bothered me a bit 2. My constitution When I got piercings, no matter how well I cared for them, they always got inflamed. No matter how much I managed them, if I drank even a sip of alcohol, it immediately came back. Ever since I was young, even minor injuries caused me a lot of trouble because of inflammation, so I felt like if I put something in my nose, it would get inflamed. Actually, even the nostril reduction area now has a slight inflammatory feel But for now, it’s inside the nose so it’s not in a visible spot, and this level of inflammation is such a frequent thing in my life that I’m just managing it like usual.. 3. Worry about side effects Originally, my natural nose was so unattractive that I strongly felt I wanted to live with a pretty nose first, whether side effects happened or not + I didn’t really think side effects would happen to me, but recently, after thinking about it a lot and looking up many reviews, I realized that no matter how well I find a clinic, even if this doctor operated on 100 out of 100 people without side effects, side effects can still happen because of my constitution or various other reasons But I’m already trying to get rhinoplasty because of appearance-related dysmorphia, and if side effects happened, I didn’t feel confident I could keep living.. Even so, I really hated my current nose Among the parts I disliked most, my nostrils and nasal bridge being wide were the biggest issues, so I tried compromising with nostril reduction.. I reduced 4 mm on both sides My review on about day 5 after surgery: nobody noticed Even the family I live with didn’t notice Right up until I closed my eyes in the operating room, I kept asking them to make it look natural I did ask that But my satisfaction is 10/10 If I take before-and-after photos and compare them, it’s definitely noticeable! Originally, when comparing the inner corners of my eyes and the tips of my nostrils, my nostrils always protruded, but now they’re straight! And surprisingly, there is no scar at all at the area where the sides meet It’s just the same as my old nose. There is still swelling But after surgery, saying I was recovering, I ate a lot and just lay around So my eyes, mouth, and whole face are all swollen, you know? My nose has gotten smaller than before, so I can’t really tell whether it’s swollen lol And since this was still surgery, my stamina did drop Including surgery and recovery time, it was done in about an hour There was no pain after surgery at all, so I didn’t realize it But on the second day, while walking for about 20 minutes, bloody phlegm came out.. I definitely get more tired even doing the same things! And something I was a bit worried about? was that I had to undergo sedation anesthesia but I had nail polish on, you know? During the consultation, they said they would put it on my toe, but when I actually went into the operating room, they put it on the finger with nail polish?
