Since I was young, my jaw was longer than other people’s and protruded forward. Even if I didn’t really notice it when looking in the mirror from the front, I was shocked every time I saw photos of my side profile that my friends took.. Each time, my self-esteem dropped to rock bottom, and at some point, it became a major complex in my life. After becoming an adult and gaining a little financial room, I thought there was no reason to keep putting off surgery, and I eventually decided to get double-jaw surgery! The deciding factor in choosing a hospital was seeing a review on a platform called Everytime, a university student community, where a student said their life changed after double-jaw surgery. I asked various questions in the comments and found out they had surgery at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. After seeing before-and-after photos and satisfied posts, I thought I absolutely had to do it at this hospital. When I actually searched for EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, there were many recommendation posts from actual surgery patients and from local dental clinics saying to get double-jaw surgery and facial contouring surgery at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and the results really seemed good, so I made an appointment right away. Before surgery, rather than being scared, I was more excited that I would finally resolve my jaw complex. But right before anesthesia, I did get a little nervous thinking, what if I don’t wake up... But my worries were unfounded, and when I woke up, the surgery was already over The director told me the surgery had gone well, so I felt relieved. However, during the first 2 nights and 3 days of hospitalization, breathing was so difficult that I even thought, if I fall asleep like this, will I die? I had to wake up every hour and focus on breathing repeatedly. Still, about a week after discharge, breathing became much more comfortable!! I could shower by myself too. The swelling was severe, but even so, I was amazed every time I looked in the mirror at my changed facial line, and I felt very satisfied!!:) At the 1-month mark, I could finally chew, and I was able to eat soft foods that could be crushed by pressing them with my thumb and index finger. I was so happy to be able to eat things like rice and ramen, and I also restarted orthodontic treatment. I no longer needed to wear a wafer, and I could go out without a mask! At 2 months, I could chew foods that were less tough than rice cakes without difficulty, and as the variety of foods I could eat increased, my weight started gradually going back up;; Daily life was barely affected, and I felt that all that was left was for the swelling from double-jaw surgery to completely go down. Now, somehow(?) 3 months have already passed. To share my current review, the swelling has gone down more than before, and I can eat almost everything except hard or tough foods!!! Most of all, I no longer need to hide my side profile when taking photos, and I no longer feel unnecessarily intimidated in front of people! Right after surgery, I worried that my bite might not fit, but in reality, I had no trouble chewing at all. Honestly, right after surgery and during the early hospitalization period, it was so hard that I wondered why I had done it... but even after just one month, seeing my changed appearance completely changed my mind! Now I think it was absolutely the right decision to have double-jaw surgery and facial contouring surgery. My jawline looks clean, I feel confident about my side profile when taking photos, and photos come out so well!!! Since I’m at 3 months, there is still a little swelling from the double-jaw surgery left, but I believe it will all go down with time. If you are considering jaw surgery, double-jaw surgery, or facial contouring surgery, I hope my experience helps~~ Thank you, Director Shin Hee-jin!!
