<Before (look at the uneven nostrilsㅠ)><Before front view><Before side view><2 weeks later front view><2 weeks later side view><Right after removing the splint! (I was happy then because I thought it turned out so well)><Recent photo (after 6 months. It came out so pretty that I didn’t want to mosaic itㅠㅋㅋㅋ)>Long time no see, everyone here Years ago... when I had my nose surgery, I was constantly coming in and out of this community This time, I’m back with a filial-duty nose surgery review for my mom! (For reference, I’m very satisfied with my own nose... but that clinic still didn’t seem to have many cases for patients in my mom’s age group, so I did as much online research as I could and went for a consultation at a place I liked!) The post will probably get a bit long, but if anyone around you who is a bit older is considering rhinoplasty, I’m writing this in detail from a third-party perspective in hopes that it will be helpful. * My mom is in her late 60s, * Her pre-op nose had an L-shaped silicone implant that was over 30 years old + a deviated nose * The surgical materials were ear cartilage + septal cartilage + silicone! 1. Reason for surgery Around 30 years ago... my mom and her two sisters, the three sisters together, had rhinoplasty in Yeongdeungpo. That doctor must have truly been a master;;; all three of them were fine until recently But around 3 years? 4 years ago, my mom had an accident, and her nose also took an impact. After that, the shape started looking strange, and by around last year it had become severely deviated. My mom’s self-esteem dropped a lot tooㅠㅠ To the point that when she met people face-to-face and talked, she said she would deliberately avoid looking straight ahead and look at them slightly at an angle. Then there was a family event, and all the relatives gathered, and an older relative whom we hadn’t seen in a really long time said, “OO, what happened to your nose?” That must have been a huge shock to her...ㅠ Ha, from then on she became so down and unwell that I couldn’t just watch anymore, so I decided to get her revision surgery done... 2. Pre-op condition I said she had no side effects even once for over 30 years, thanks to some miraculous doctor in Yeongdeungpo who did her surgery, right? But that was only how it looked on the outside. When we went to the clinic and took photos, they said there was a lot of calcification around the L-shaped silicone implant inside. The silicone had shifted severely too, and when viewed from below, the nostrils were uneven. If you look at the first photo, you can probably see how serious it was... Anyway, since she’s older too, what my mom and I wanted was “correction of the deviated nose, correction of nasal asymmetry, and raising the bridge without making it obvious that she had surgery.” The reason my dad originally opposed it was that he thought it was ridiculous at her ageㅋㅋㅋ so he was against it, you know? But to just state the conclusion, these days my dad is the one saying she should have done the surgery earlier... he likes it He suddenly says he wants eye surgery too, so I’m kind of tired these days;;; 3. Surgical progress People say revision surgery is much harder than a first surgery, right? And my mom had hers over 30 years agoㅠ Also, when I had mine done at another clinic, the bruising lasted re~~ally long and the swelling was severe. So I was really worried... Using my experience, I prepared everything: thin rice gruel, pumpkin juice, cold/hot packs, and swelling-reducing medicine. But what was really amazing was that even on the day of surgery, my mom slept extremely well The swelling was almost all gone by about the one-month mark, and after about a month even the yellow bruising disappeared! It was really amazing... what was that;;; The surgery did end a little earlier than I expected, so maybe because there wasn’t much bleeding, the bruising and swelling weren’t severe? That’s what I wondered. Anyway, right after the splint was removed was the most surprising to me. My mom worried that it looked too high, but first of all, the unevenness was corrected perfectly, and maybe because it looked a bit plump from the swellingㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ she looked younger and I liked it so much! Of course, now that the swelling has gradually gone down, she is truly extremely satisfied. Her self-esteem has gone up, so she travels every day, and even when someone takes a photo, she poses confidently. As her daughter, I feel so proudㅠ Since it was revision surgery, it wasn’t cheap... But it really feels like I properly did something filial for the first time in a long while, and since I had been living without knowing that she had been so stressed because of her nose... I also feel somewhat sorry. 4. Closing Since I live separately from my mom, I couldn’t carefully take care of every little thing for her right after surgery. At first, my mom was anxious because of the swelling, so it seems she contacted the manager in charge really often^^;;;;; I didn’t know, but later I saw the KakaoTalk messages and almost fainted... Anyway, I’m so grateful to *Manager Kim Seohee* for responding so carefully and sincerely so my mom wouldn’t feel anxious! And I’m also grateful to *Director Seo Seungjo* for operating on my mom’s nose so beautifully! I told my mom to take one pretty selfie showing her side profile and send it to me, but I guess she’s been taking selfies forever... she still hasn’t sent one If a pretty photo comes in, I’ll add it^^;;; I hope everyone’s rhinoplasty turns out amazing. That’s it!
