I ended up having double-jaw surgery because I had facial asymmetry and a poor bite. It has now been one month since the surgery, so I’m writing this progress update. I had not only asymmetry but also a square jaw, so I had surgery for asymmetry, square jaw reduction, and facial contouring. Before surgery, my temporomandibular joint was in bad condition, so it made a clicking sound every time I opened my mouth, and if I chewed for a long time, both my teeth and jaw would hurt, which was uncomfortable. After surgery, there is no sound from my temporomandibular joint, and my jaw and teeth do not hurt, so I’m very satisfied. In my case, they said I’m the type whose swelling goes down slowly, so I’m continuing to use warm compresses. During the first week, my nose was very blocked and it was a little hard to breathe, but once exactly one week had passed, it got a lot better. I resumed daily activities one week after surgery. The bruising gradually moved downward from my cheeks to my cleavage area, and it was all gone three weeks after surgery. Until then, I covered the bruises with a scarf while going about daily life.
