I met a surgeon who said revision was possible without checking very much I rushed into a redo and it went badly I’m older, and I’ve been half-giving up on it while living with this so I don’t even know about things like whether it’s straight or droopy The nasal bridge is too high, it looks like an Arabian nose I asked for something natural and pretty He said he would switch to the thinnest silicone and lift the tip After surgery, while taped, it looked really good The start of the nasal line was very high and it was a higher nose than I expected I thought it would drop down eventually but as soon as I removed the taping, the tip kept dropping There was nothing placed on the tip. On the other hand, the bridge silicone is too thick and too high Before, it had been an Arab-looking nose still somewhat close to straight, but now it’s a ridiculously high, showy Arab-shaped nose If only this part were fixed, it would be fine, right? The glabella/bridge silicone step is enormous Because the silicone color is different and visible through the skin, the whole nose looks like something attached If the silicone had been thinner, it would have looked like a straight nose On top of that, the nostrils are asymmetrical The left and right shape of the nose is also different The nostril mismatch is so severe it makes the nose look turned to one side But I’ll just adapt and live without obsessing over the nostrils Is this right? Shouldn’t she have explained the A/S care first, at least in words? Even the nurses couldn’t say, “It’s okay” or “It’s pretty,” and they couldn’t meet my eyes. Even they had no reply But the doctor just says to live as it is At least one thing should not show at all, and I plan to live with it anyway I’m going crazy, really.

But when I said it was too high, she finally said, “Then we should switch to thinner silicone.” Even though she claimed she put in the thinnest one first, it feels like she put in something higher on her own. About the nostrils too, she seemed to think it was odd when I kept crying it out. I said everyone’s nostrils are asymmetric, and yeah I know that, but this one seems too bad. So she said we should wait until it’s time for possible revision; if it’s still wrong, she said she’d fix it. Anyway, the doctor seems to think I’m over-sensitive. I’m wondering if it’s right to keep trusting and waiting here.

유야유 Why are doctors like this? It’s so frustrating—if they’re not confident with other people’s faces, why don’t they just admit they’re not confident? Before I pay, they act like they’ll do it, then they mess it up, and when swelling happens they tell me to wait. It’s exhausting.
