Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

After double jaw surgery with Director Shin at Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, my facial line came back …

<After surgery><Before surgery>I had double jaw surgery with Director Shin Hee-jin at Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I had so many concerns before deciding on double jaw surgery, but while consulting with Director Shin Hee-jin, I developed trust and made up my mind to proceed with the surgery. Now I feel that decision was truly a good choice. On day 1 after surgery, because of the effects of general anesthesia, my mind was hazy, and because my nose was blocked and I could only breathe through my mouth, my throat was very dry. My mouth also felt completely full, so I could barely speak, and the discomfort I was experiencing for the first time was a little scary. But since I had already started, I spent the day quietly with the mindset of focusing on recovery. On day 2, I still had to breathe only through my mouth, so my throat kept getting dry, and even drinking one pack of New Care took quite a while. I barely spoke all day and spent the day quietly, conserving my energy. From day 3, the facial swelling really started to rise, and every time I looked in the mirror, I could clearly see that I was more swollen than the day before. My mouth was still uncomfortable, but emotionally I accepted it calmly without being greatly shaken. On day 4, I felt like my body was gradually adapting. Breathing was less uncomfortable than at first, and eating became a little easier too. My face was still swollen, but I wasn't startled when I looked in the mirror, and my mind was much more stable. On day 5, I received disinfection care and was discharged. Once I got home, my body definitely felt more comfortable, and I was able to eat simple porridge. My eating speed was slow, but it was better than at the hospital, and I felt that I would now recover at my own pace. On days 6 and 7, the swelling had not gone down much, but as in other people's reviews, I thought recovery speed differs from person to person and did not get impatient. My sensation was dull, but the fact that I was recovering stably without pain was the most positive thing. By week 2, the swelling had noticeably decreased, and my facial contour began to show little by little. The sensation around my mouth was still dull and I was cautious about opening my mouth, but there was no major pain. Since it was before stitch removal, I paid even more attention to hygiene management, and focused on recovery while eating mainly soft porridge or soup. In week 3, a lot of the swelling had gone down, leaving only slight swelling under the chin and in the cheek area. I was still eating mainly soft foods, and my mouth opening was gradually improving. After stitch removal, I was able to return to daily life without difficulty. And now, I am 1 month post double jaw surgery. A lot of the facial swelling has gone down, and I can feel my jawline becoming more defined. The sensation in my lips and the tip of my chin is still dull, but the speed of recovery keeps improving. Opening my mouth has become more and more comfortable, and I am eating soft foods without difficulty. Looking back at the discomfort I felt when I first had surgery a month ago, I feel really proud of and satisfied with the changes now. Above all, thanks to the attentive care and guidance from Director Shin Hee-jin and the staff at Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the recovery process felt much more stable. I plan to continue recovering steadily, slowly, and without rushing.
