It has already been 1 year since I had two-jaw surgery and the 3 types of facial contouring surgery, cheekbones, square jaw, and front chin, at Y Oral & Maxillofacial Clinic. Before surgery, every single day felt so long, but now it is already 1 year later, so I feel like time has really flown by. Up to 6 months after surgery, I recovered noticeably, and after that, I could feel myself gradually changing in a more natural and comfortable way. Recently, I also completed pin removal, and after about 2 weeks had passed since the removal, all the swelling went down and I have no discomfort at all in daily life. Since the pins that had been bothering me are gone, I feel much more refreshed. I was a little worried about pin removal, but once I actually did it, there was almost no pain and recovery was fast, so I felt reassured. They also took very careful care of me throughout the surgery process, so I felt really at ease. Now my sensation has completely returned, no different from before surgery, and the movement around my lips and chin is very natural. I have no discomfort at all when chewing or speaking either. I was worried before surgery, so I think it is really fortunate. Orthodontic treatment is also going smoothly. At my recent appointment, my doctor said the orthodontic treatment will likely be finished within half a year, so I am looking forward to it even more. At first it felt a little awkward and uncomfortable, but now I have fully adjusted and am living without any inconvenience in daily life. Whenever I contacted the hospital because I had questions or something felt uncomfortable, they always responded kindly and checked things thoroughly in person, so it felt really reassuring. I liked that they carefully looked into even small inquiries. Before surgery, my facial bone structure was a complex for me, so I felt self-conscious every time I took photos, and when I went outside without a mask, people's gazes also felt burdensome. But now that stress has completely disappeared, to the point that I barely remember how it used to feel. Of course, two-jaw surgery and facial contouring surgery are definitely not surgeries you can decide on lightly. The recovery process also requires consistent care and patience. But the results are that good, so I am truly satisfied. If there are people considering surgery, I recommend getting enough consultations and making a careful decision.
