I was the type where only my upper teeth showed when I talked or smiled, so people around me did not really know, but.. the hidden crookedness of my lower teeth underneath (serious) and.. my upper lip that subtly protruded when seen from the side were always stressful.. So ever since I was young, deep down I wanted orthodontic treatment. Looking back now, I should have done it when I was younger like my other friends And at the end of 2023.. I got a student exam admission ticket discount.. and went ahead with it! Since then, I have been going to the dental clinic once every two months even now. I also had cavity treatment, and they said I had malocclusion because my jaw is small compared with my teeth, so I had 4 healthy teeth extracted, 2 upper and 2 lower, plus 3 wisdom teeth too. Including the wisdom teeth, extracting teeth never hurt (seriously, I felt nothing at all, to the point I did not even know they were being pulled, and even after the anesthesia wore off it did not hurt at all). But after they were removed, it was uncomfortable when eating. Thinking back, while getting braces.. I think the extraction at the beginning + tightening the braces were the most uncomfortable and painful. And the day after the elastics were pulled or after I came back from having the braces tightened, my teeth hurt quite a bit. I have gotten used to it happening every month these days, but it still hurts for about half a day The pain is about that much.. Other than that, the inconvenient thing in daily life is that food gets stuck in the braces so~ easily.. Foods with parsley or chili powder, and meats, get stuck even more, so I avoid them in front of people I need to look good for. Brushing my teeth is also a little inconvenient.. interdental brushes are essential. Oh, another downside is.. I can no longer eat foods containing turmeric powder, such as curry. If I eat them, the transparent bands attached to the braces turn yellow.. I love curry, but I only eat it right before going to the dentist Anyway, if you can accept these things, it is really good!! Currently my mouth has gone in a lot, so I am very satisfied with how it looks, and my lower teeth too.. before, if comparing them to solfege notes, they were like do-fa-mi-re, but now they have become very even, like do-do-do-do!
