When I was a minor, everyone around me was getting double-eyelid surgery, so I just asked a friend which clinic she went to and had surgery right away without doing any online or in-person research. My eyes had a lot of fat and thick skin, so I had epicanthoplasty and ptosis correction done at the same time. Back then, instead of asking for the line to look natural, I said I wanted it somewhat large, and maybe that was greed. Throughout my school years, I walked around with sausage double eyelids that anyone could tell were surgically done. I thought it was swelling, but it stayed the same even after three or four years, so I eventually went to a clinic specializing in revision surgery and asked them to lower the line. When I said I wanted an in-out line, they said a double-line revision probably was not necessary and that they could make it into one scar with an incisional method, so I did that, and it was okay. The swelling really went down quickly, and it definitely felt more corrected than before. But it is still a thick, deep, unnatural double eyelid. Wherever I go, people ask if I had double-eyelid surgery, and it is seriously stressful. I went back to the clinic and said it seemed like the correction was not enough and that I wanted to lower it more, and they said that in that case, it would have to be lowered with a double-line technique, but it could make the eyelid look droopy, so I should think about it... I have already spent so much money, and my eyes have been cut open about two times with incisional surgery, so I feel like it would be hard to have them cut again.. I am conflicted, and I just regret everything.. Everyone, when you get double-eyelid surgery, please make it as natural as possible and really understand what is realistically possible for your own eyes. I think I will eventually have to do it again too.
