Nose Surgery Reviews

After my first rhinoplasty (silicone + donated dermis), due to cellulitis (possible necrosis)…

<The attending doctor stated, “I don’t know the cause. There is nothing wrong with the donated dermis. There is no problem, it has settled well, and even if you keep coming in, there is nothing more we can do.”><The hospital’s executive director and law firm made indirectly threatening remarks, saying they would contact the hospital where the victim received the diagnosis directly.>Summary of the medical harm case related to Ruby Plastic Surgery 1. August 2023 Underwent rhinoplasty (insertion of silicone and donated dermis) at Ruby Plastic Surgery Clinic in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Afterward, side effects occurred continuously, including redness, swelling, and pain around the nasal tip. When I visited, they advised me not to come from far away and to get antibiotics prescribed at a nearby hospital. 2. Around March 2025 At another hospital, I received a medical warning about abnormal findings and the seriousness of the surgical site. 3. Around April 2025 Underwent silicone removal surgery at Ruby Plastic Surgery. At the time, the attending doctor, Director Ha Gi-young, stated, “I don’t know the cause. There is nothing wrong with the donated dermis. There is no problem, it has settled well, and even if you keep coming in, there is nothing more we can do.” Even afterward, the side effects continued and worsened. 4. June 30, 2025 Received another serious warning opinion about the condition of my nose at another outside hospital. 5. Early July 2025 I requested medical records, including the surgical records, but the hospital ignored or delayed the request for more than a day and did not issue them immediately. Afterward, the hospital’s executive director and law firm made indirectly threatening remarks, saying they would contact the hospital where the victim received the diagnosis directly. 6. July 8, 2025 Began inpatient treatment in the otolaryngology department of a university hospital with a diagnosis of “cellulitis.” 7. July 22, 2025 Officially filed an application for medical dispute mediation with the **Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency (K-MEDI)**. 8. July 28, 2025 The plastic surgery department at the university hospital was concerned about the possibility of necrosis of the entire nose and performed treatment by making an opening in the nose to drain pus. 9. August 1, 2025 The application was dismissed because Ruby Plastic Surgery did not agree to the medical dispute mediation process. 10. August 4, 2025 I requested the medical records, but the hospital repeatedly delayed providing the records without justifiable reason, and in the end I received only an incomplete two-page record. However, after later checking the referral records received from another hospital (the university hospital), I confirmed that a total of 13 pages of detailed medical records had been delivered for the same procedure record. ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ Suspicion of donated dermis insertion without prior explanation or consent Neglect despite repeated inflammation and suspected necrosis Refusal, delay, or concealment of immediate issuance of medical records, including surgical records Retaliatory response by the hospital and attempted intervention with a third medical institution Insufficient appropriate follow-up care for a medical accident Mediation failed because consent to medical dispute mediation was refused
