I decided to get implantable contact lens surgery two days ago and I’m recovering now... I had made an appointment at another hospital, but I ended up getting surgery right away at the first hospital I went to, so I do have a bit of regret. They did say that implantable contact lens surgery was the only option, but I had narrowed down some hospitals that mainly see ultra-high myopia cases, so I keep wondering if at least one of them might have told me LASEK was possible if I had gone there... But I heard that with ultra-high myopia, LASEK can cause severe myopic regression, so I just decided on implantable contact lens surgery ㅠ It’s disappointing, but it was my choice, so there’s nothing I can do ㅠㅠ Myopia -11 / -11.5 Astigmatism -2.5 / -2 That’s about where I was, so even if I had gone to another hospital, LASEK might have been difficult. It’s scary to think of putting something inside my eyes, but I have to live, what else can I do...ㅠㅠ + On the day of surgery, the glare/halos were severe, but I could see somewhat! On day 1 after surgery, the glare/halos had decreased a bit, and on day 2 (today), there is still slight glare/halos but I can see well. I went to the hospital for an exam, and it seems my vision is about 0.9 / 1.0! Still, they said my vision will gradually come back over 6 months. Also, I hadn’t heard anything about the surgery being painful, so I carelessly went ahead with same-day surgery.... But for me, it really hurt. Maybe because it was visually frightening, I perceived it as painful, and maybe it didn’t actually hurt, but during the surgery I almost started hyperventilating, so the nurses kept talking to me beside me, telling me to breathe slowly.
