In September 2012, I had LASIK on my right eye / lens implantation on my left eye at Gangnam Ionce Eye Clinic by Director Jwa Un-bong at the time. Even at the time of surgery, the first surgery on my left eye did not go well, so the vision came out far below what they had told me before surgery (they said they would make it at least around 0.6~0.8). So I had a huge fight with them (the direct cause of the fight was not so much the above, but that another young doctor at Ionce Eye Clinic at the time, not Director Jwa, spoke really rudely, so we shouted at each other and fought). They had originally said I would see well right away after about 3 days, but I still couldn't see well, so after about a week, I think, I had revision surgery. As I remember it, they adjusted the angle of the inserted lens. Anyway, even after the revision surgery, my vision was about 0.6~0.7, so it wasn't as good as originally planned, but I could still see, so I just settled for the revision surgery being done without extra cost and ended it there. (The LASIK on my right eye went well and is still in good condition.) Because the relationship became somewhat uncomfortable, I still got checked once a year until around 2014, but then I didn't for a few years. A few years ago, I went to the place where Gangnam Ionce Eye Clinic had been, and it had become a completely different store, so I thought they had moved. But I recently found out through Googling that Director Jwa had passed away and the hospital itself had disappeared. Well, now a long time has passed and I haven't managed it very well, so it seems there has been some astigmatism regression and vision decline, but when I had a recent vision test (driver's license aptitude test renewal), I still got 0.5. Before surgery, I had astigmatism + hyperopia, and my left eye was almost decorative, practically useless (because of this left eye, I received Grade 4 right away at the military physical examination site without separately getting a military service medical certificate), so even now I am still receiving an effective improvement in vision one way or another. There are not many long-term reviews after lens implantation surgery itself, so I'm writing this hoping it will help someone.
