I had rhinoplasty 25 years ago, in my 20s, without knowing anything. I thought once it was done, that would be the end of it, but on the day of the surgery I had a gut feeling. I might regret this because of the foreign-body sensation... But I was too scared of revision surgery to even consider it. Then I started worrying about how I would handle it when I got even older, and for several months I was extremely anxious. So while searching here and there, I heard information about autologous dermis, and thought I should at least have a consultation. I traveled from Gyeongnam, taking 4 hours and 20 minutes each way, about 9 hours round trip, had the consultation, and now I’m posting this consultation review from the train. *I had a consultation at a clinic in Suwon, ㅂ ㅂ, which has over 4,500 rhinoplasty cases over 25 years using autologous dermis. *Consultation time: The director explained autologous dermis to me in truly great detail, and showed me actual silicone while consulting with me for over 30 minutes. ★For reference, the consultation takes about 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, so you need to allow plenty of time. I changed and rebooked my train ticket. I wonder if there is another place that consults in this much detail. *Decision to have surgery: I booked the date right away. I thought I had been living without any particular side effects, but as the silicone had been in my nose for such a long time, it had shifted to the side. The director told me to touch the bridge of my nose, so I did, and I felt a slightly rough sensation; they said this was calcification. They said that once calcification occurs, separation is difficult during revision surgery. They also said red discoloration can remain on the skin. So I wondered if my glabella had become swollen. ★And they said the reason silicone absolutely must be removed is that, unlike other areas, the nose is structurally like a person hanging from a cliff, so as time passes, deformation is inevitable. Huge shock... I’m posting this while taking the train back, in case there are people like me who are worried while feeling dissatisfied. Please really do not hesitate; if you get a consultation, you’ll feel convinced. For reference, the consultant and the nurses are all kind~ I have presbyopia now, and since I was writing this review on a small phone on the train, it came out a bit disorganized. Thank you for reading.
