As others have said, the doctor and the consultants are not especially kind. They’re rather blunt, actually, but what set them apart from doctors at other hospitals was that they explained things by pinpointing the key points. Since I visited with almost no consultation experience and knew practically nothing about cosmetic surgery, I had so many questions, and even though I went in knowing almost nothing, they showed me booklets and photos one by one while explaining, which gave me confidence. After consulting with the doctor, I spoke with the manager, and the manager was really good. When I said this was almost my first consultation, they were very honest about what to watch out for at other hospitals, what makes them different from other hospitals, and finally even told me to go around to as many hospitals as possible before deciding. Because they came across that way, it actually made them more trustworthy.
First, one thing to watch out for when consulting at other hospitals was what material they use for the nose tip. The hospital said they use ear cartilage, and they told me to absolutely avoid places that do the kind of surgery commonly done in the West to narrow the nose from a flat profile (I can’t remember the exact name), or places that use hard materials at the nose tip. Also, my eyes are pulled outward and the outer corners are raised upward, and while other hospitals recommended a lateral lower canthoplasty, here they said they would not do lower canthoplasty. They said the chance of side effects would be very high. I was impressed that they safely recommended only the minimum necessary surgery. And as for the surgical method, they said that on the surgery day, or one week before, I would come to the hospital and they would make about nine plaster molds of the nose, and the doctor would choose about four or five of them and recommend the best one. They also said that even during surgery, I could temporarily check the nose shape with my guardian after one month. So apparently the satisfaction rate is high. I can see why.
