It has been 3 years since I had SMILE LASIK surgery. Of course it’s nice because I don’t need glasses, but there are also many things I’m disappointed about. Worsened dry eye syndrome-! My eyes were already a bit dry, but if I used to put in artificial tears occasionally, now after surgery I go to the ophthalmology clinic every few months to get a prescription for artificial tears.. Especially in the morning, there are many times when it’s hard to open my eyes after waking up, so putting in artificial tears right away is part of my routine.. I’ve gotten used to living like this, but it does seem like a side effect. I also tried dry eye treatment with IPL laser at the ophthalmology clinic, but honestly.. I don’t really know if it was effective. Vision improvement effect was minimal My myopia wasn’t severe to begin with. My contact lens prescription was about -2.5… But from the day after surgery, when they tested me, I couldn’t really see 1.0 properly..? And now I’m living at around 0.8.. After LASIK, people become 1.5 right away and then later become 1.2 or 1.0, but for me, the effect didn’t look very big from the start.. yeah Still, even if I went back, I think I’d look for a different hospital, but I’d still get vision correction surgery. Wearing both glasses and contact lenses was uncomfortableㅠ
