Orthodontic treatment review

About 10 years ago, after I left my job, I started orthodontic treatment with my severance pay At the time, getting consultations was so difficult that I didn’t look into many places and only had consultations at about two clinics, and I started ceramic braces at an event price at a place that had newly opened then as an orthodontic specialty clinic. For reference, this was outside Seoul Originally, I had severe snaggle teeth and protruding mouth, so I had wanted braces every day since I was young, but because I kept going back and forth overseas, I only started in my late 20s. Because of the protruding mouth, I absolutely wanted extractions. I had heard a lot about side effects too, but because I personally had a huge amount of aesthetic stress, I wanted to do it quickly no matter what ㅠㅠ Because of malocclusion, my jaw didn’t grow properly, so it was close to a recessed chin, and my lower face was narrow, so there wasn’t enough room for my teeth to come in; later, even my wisdom teeth erupted and made them more crooked My lower face was so small that they said I might not be able to get orthodontic treatment because of my temporomandibular joint, so I was really worried and got a CT scan and diagnosis at a university hospital. Thankfully, they said the joint was thin but not to the extent that orthodontic treatment was impossible  They said it was a complicated case and would take 3 years, and I actually finished after filling the full 3 years For extractions, I had 4 wisdom teeth and 4 healthy teeth removed, and it was so hard when they were pulled that I cried every day… And maybe I’m sensitive, but after getting the braces on and adjusted, it hurt so much that I could barely eat.. I ate so much porridge then that I don’t eat porridge anymore ㅠㅠ I lost weight down to 49 kg and it was just so hard ㅠㅠㅠㅠ Since they were ceramic, because of staining, I couldn’t eat curry or jajangmyeon for 3 years, and I couldn’t use my front teeth either.. lol It was a time of hardship, but if someone really wants to do it, I recommend doing it even if it’s late. Because I was so satisfied that all the hardship was forgotten First of all, my face shape became more refined, so I look more sophisticated When teeth become even, a person’s image looks different The recessed chin improved to some extent too, but unless you do double-jaw surgery, since I’m no longer in the growth period, they say orthodontics can’t fix that. So now I get chin-tip filler and I’m very satisfied The downside, aside from the process being difficult, is that I got a lot of cavities during orthodontic treatment, and because I got into the habit of covering the braces with my lips when smiling, the corners of my mouth drooped a lot ㅠ I also had quite a bit of tooth sensitivity, but after using gum-care toothpaste, it almost disappeared And before orthodontic treatment, my jaw used to habitually dislocate easily, but that disappeared too Well, the biggest thing is probably that my lower face became prettier There are more gains than losses, so I’m very satisfied.! If there’s anyone here like me, I think I’d definitely tell them to do it haha Oh, the clinic I went to later closed down ㅠㅠㅠ So if my retainer breaks or something, I go to another clinic, but it costs so much money lolololol I think finding a clinic that seems likely to stay open for a long time is important too!!!
