Hello. I’m a man in my early 30s, and last March I had surgery with a combination of open rhinoplasty + ear cartilage nasal tip + silicone nasal bridge, and now I’m exactly 3 months post-op. To start with the conclusion, I’m satisfied, but... At the beginning of the recovery period, I seriously thought, ‘Is this something a person should do?’ ㅋㅋㅋ -> Why did I have surgery? My nasal bridge was low and my nasal tip was spread out, so my side profile really had no charm. When I took photos, my nose didn’t show, so I always looked flat, and my nasal septum was also slightly deviated, so breathing wasn’t great either. They packed my nose full of cotton, so I couldn’t breathe. I had to breathe only through my mouth, but it got dry when sleeping at night, so I slept with a straw in my mouth. ※ This is real. If your mouth gets dry, you gag and lose your mind. ※ With a straw in my mouth, I just sipped water. I thought I was being tortured in the Middle Ages;;; My eyes were swollen too, so half my vision was blocked, and bruising came up blue. If you don’t lose it mentally here, you’re not human ㅋㅋㅋ ■ Day 3~Day 7: Bruised and swollen potato When I looked in the mirror, it looked like a potato was attached, not a nose... Meanwhile, the nasal tip had no sensation and was itchy, but I couldn’t even scratch it. ■ Week 2: It becomes somewhat like a human nose The swelling went down a little, and I could finally go out. From this point, looking in the mirror started to feel a little satisfying. If I wore a mask, it didn’t show, so I could be active. ■ Month 1~Now (Month 2) The line has mostly settled, and the nasal bridge has come up naturally. The nasal tip with ear cartilage isn’t pointy either; it settled well, slightly rounded in a masculine way. Every time I see my side line, I think, “Ah, I finally have a nose now...”
