At first, they listened well and seemed to be setting the direction properly, but at some point there were more patients, it became hard to make appointments, and I think conversations with the doctor took less than 5 minutes total. They said the advantage of Invisalign is that the treatment direction can be changed at any time, so I went into it thinking, “Let’s just try it,” and now it has been about 2 years. They intruded my molars too much, so the occlusion between my molars no longer fits and normal chewing has become difficult, so we are trying to bring them back up. But even in the middle of this, they are not paying attention to occlusion at all, and since about 2 years have passed, they are talking about the finishing stage of orthodontic treatment. I thought that at the finishing stage, the basic process would be for the doctor to first check the occlusion, X-rays, etc. and decide whether to continue, but here they keep saying patient satisfaction comes first and asking whether I’m satisfied lol I have no intention of stopping until it is confirmed that my occlusion is good enough for chewing without strain. To summarize the current situation: -Before orthodontic treatment : Open bite (molars touched first, so the front teeth did not touch), slight protruding mouth, retruded chin, rhinitis, temporomandibular joint sounds + slight pain, gummy smile -Expected effects from orthodontic treatment : Normal occlusion, improvement of retruded chin, improvement of rhinitis (the nasal airway may widen in the process of achieving normal occlusion; possible use of a palatal expansion device) -Problems that occurred during orthodontic treatment : Difficulty chewing finely with the molars due to excessive molar intrusion, front teeth are touching too firmly but they do not explain whether this is correct, they do not check the occlusion in detail, temporomandibular joint symptoms worsened and became more painful, externally the retruded chin improved a little, gummy smile improved a lot, and the talk about the palatal expansion device completely disappeared as if they forgot about it That’s about it lol I should have gone to another dental clinicㅠㅠㅠ
