Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

Mandibular surgery

I had severe malocclusion, so I had been worried about my jaw since middle school. I went into surgery after presurgical orthodontics, and they first told me that I would likely be highly satisfied with mandibular surgery alone, so I decided to do that. I remember double-jaw surgery costing about twice as much. I did presurgical orthodontics for about 6 months and postsurgical orthodontics for about 6 months too. First of all, throughout the process, the director paid a lot of attention, and they told me to feel free to KakaoTalk them if I had any questions. During orthodontic treatment, I had to have my wisdom teeth removed, and they really pulled them out smoothly without pain. I know regular dental treatment has long waits, but they give a lot of convenience to people with surgery appointments haha The surgery itself was done under sedation anesthesia with a pain-control injection, so there wasn’t much pain. After surgery, I was hospitalized, and before discharge, the director who operated came to check everything carefully before I left. The hardest part is that they tie your mouth with elastics up and down, so you can only have liquids for 2 weeks. I really hit the lowest weight of my life. When I changed clothes, my chest was gone... lol The swelling really did take a long time to go down. The major swelling all went down in a month or two, but for almost all the minor swelling, maybe 1 year? At first, I couldn’t feel the chin area under my lower lip, but sensation slowly came back, and by around 1 year, I could feel everything. Before that, even if I spilled something while eating, I didn’t really notice. One thing to consider is that after setting the jaw back, the lower lip often loses volume. As the jaw moves inward, the lip rolls inward, so the lip shape changes a lot from the front view. My lips became thinner, so in the end I later got lip filler. Still, I think I did well to get it. In the past, even when I just had a blank expression, I often heard things like, “Why do you look so grumpy?” but now my overall impression has softened. If you’re going to do it, I recommend doing it as young as possible after bone growth is completely finished. The younger you are, the faster your muscles and tissues recover.
