I'm leaving this in case it helps. I'm on day 47 after removal. I had removal 9 years after my nose surgery. As I gradually got older, I lost facial fat, and my nose seemed to lose volume too. The silicone became too prominent, and my skin must have become thinner too... I could even feel the silicone at the nasal tip, but I had lived without paying attention to my nose, then discovered it late and hurriedly had it removed.
I had silicone inserted, and for the nasal tip, only the columella was slightly lengthened, with almost no heightening effect. Maybe because only the nasal bridge was high and the nasal tip was not touched much, so far, no major problems have occurred. Instead, I'm being careful. When my nose gets cold, I can visibly see the columella shrinking, so I always keep it warm. In the areas where the wound is hollow inside, the skin color currently turns dark from time to time. I'm very worried about whether it will become depressed later once the scar tissue softens.
Around 2 weeks after surgery, whenever I felt pulling in the nasal bridge (the side exposed to cold wind at work pulled a lot), I did warm compresses. I dislike cold wind, so I don't use fans or air conditioning, but when I couldn't avoid it, I wore a mask and avoided cold air. Even now, when I touch my nasal bridge and glabella area, it hurts a lot. As for the nasal tip, I don't know about any contracture phase or anything, but it was very hard from right after surgery, and now the nasal ala has softened, so there is no problem touching it. For the rest, I'm basically leaving it alone and not touching it... though I don't know whether the indented flesh at the nasal tip will fill in or not.
In the photo, the left is the current state after removal, and the right is before removal.
