Since I was young, my lower jaw slowly started to protrude, and as it gradually got worse, I was teased quite a bit by friends and stress about my appearance kept building because of my protruding lower jaw.,. Just having a protruding jaw made my confidence drop a lot, and I became increasingly afraid of standing in front of people. On top of that, I couldn’t chew tough foods well, and it was hard to bite off food with my front teeth, so there were many inconveniences in daily life. Then after I was discharged from the military, I felt I couldn’t live like this anymore and decided to have double jaw surgery. While looking into hospitals, I found EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. They had so many reviews and the director’s experience was solid, so I trusted them haha. When I went for an in-person consultation, the consultant, director, and nurses were all so kind, and the hospital atmosphere was clean and nice. Since I live outside Seoul, the distance was a bit of a burden, but an orthodontic clinic in my region also recommended this hospital, so I trusted it even more!! That’s how I decided to have surgery with Director Shin Hee-jin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery!! Right after surgery, it was really hard. My throat hurt because of the blood drains, breathing was difficult... and since I had to keep sitting up, even my lower back and butt hurt so much. It was hard to drink even a sip of water, so all I could think was that I wanted just one day to pass quickly. But after the blood drains were removed the next day, breathing definitely got a bit better, and I could drink small amounts of water and New Care, so I felt like I could survive. On day 3, I was discharged and came home, and as expected, home was the most comfortable. The swelling gradually went down, and the wafer was still uncomfortable, but it was much better than at first. More than anything, being able to wash after 3 days made me the happiest lol After that, it was still a little physically hard because I was only consuming liquids, but I kept getting swelling laser treatments, the wounds healed well, and recovery gradually picked up speed. After stitch removal, I was able to take out the wafer when eating, so eating became really comfortable. I could finally brush my teeth too, so I felt so refreshed haha Most of the swelling had gone down, but the nose and cheekbone areas felt like they were going down a little more slowly. The screws embedded in my gums were sometimes uncomfortable when they moved, but it was tolerable. Sensation also felt like it was gradually coming back from the jaw area. Except for hard or tough foods, I could eat almost everything, and the facial bruising and minor swelling clearly decreased, so I felt good every time I looked in the mirror. Now I’m told I can do intense exercise like working out at the gym, so I’m doing almost all normal daily activities without any problems. Sensation around my lips still hasn’t fully returned, but there’s no major discomfort. Before surgery, I had a lot of worries, but now I’m really satisfied with the result. I had such a satisfying 3-month mark that I would sincerely recommend it to those considering double jaw + facial contouring surgery, and before I knew it, I reached month 4! Because of the sensation issue, it’s a little inconvenient that I sometimes spill food while eating. The swelling has almost all gone down, and there is no interference with daily life at all. Before double jaw surgery, I really hated showing my side profile, but after surgery I don’t even worry about it, and now I can actually take photos from the side. I’m so happy that I could get not only a face shape I’m confident in, but also a side profile haha. My mouth area still tingles and feels numb, but I’m already looking forward to how I’ll look after more time passes, at 5 months, 6 months, and 1 year, with the swelling gone even more!! haha
