This is my 8-month review after double-jaw surgery! At first, I decided to have surgery because my protruding mouth made it uncomfortable to close my lips, and a lot of my gums showed when I smiled, so I had a serious complex about it. Since orthodontic treatment alone would have made it difficult to achieve a major change, I chose double-jaw surgery because it was faster and more definite. While watching several oral and maxillofacial surgery YouTube channels, I came across a clinic channel, and the surgical results from Director Kim Jong-yoon looked so natural that I felt I could trust him. The consultation was also honest, without pressure, so I had enough time to think it over. The first week after surgery was tough. My nose and throat were swollen, so it was hard to breathe, and the swelling was severe, so my face looked very puffy. Even swallowing a sip of water was difficult, and I could not sleep well. Still, the swelling gradually went down, and I recovered while wearing elastics. From the second week, I had the stitches removed, and moving my mouth became more comfortable, so I gradually adjusted to daily life. When I met my friends in the third week, they said my face looked smaller and prettier. After one month and two months passed, my mouth opening improved, and nerve recovery was faster too, so I looked much more natural when smiling. By the fourth month, I could eat hard foods without any problem, and by the sixth month, I heard a lot that my facial expressions had become softer. Now, at seven months, almost all the swelling is gone, and I have no discomfort. I still cover my mouth because of my braces, but I am also thinking about pin removal soon. Most of all, I have gained confidence in my side profile, so taking photos has become enjoyable!
