I had worried a lot since I was young because of temporomandibular joint problems and asymmetry! I was even told by someone I had just met, “What’s wrong with your face?” and every time I took photos, I disliked the asymmetric shape of my jaw, so since puberty I hardly kept any photos.. My confidence had dropped a lot, and I wanted to take lots of pictures like other people and keep memories, so I decided to have double-jaw surgery! A teacher I’m close to recommended it, so I went for a consultation at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and it was more systematic than I expected, and they explained all the necessary steps in detail, so I trusted them right away and made the decision!! On day 1 after surgery, it was hard to breathe because of the nasal tube and I also had vomiting symptoms, but from day 2, it gradually got better. On day 3, I was discharged, and although the inside of my mouth and my nose were dry and uncomfortable, if I didn’t do cold compresses my face became red, so I paid attention to care. From day 4, breathing improved, and I had discomfort while taking powdered medicine instead of pillsㅠㅠ On day 5, a runny nose started coming out instead of a nosebleed, and my lips and nasal tip cracked, so personally I think it’s a time when moisturizing is needed On day 6, a lot of the swelling went down, and except for the frustration of not being able to speak, it was okay! On day 7, a little swelling remained!! In week 2, I had the stitches removed, wore elastics, and started eating soft foods, but the pain was pretty severeㅠㅠ From week 3, I wore the elastics more and was able to eat soft foods, and at 1 month I wore the wafer only at night and gradually improved From month 2, I only wore elastics and had no discomfort at all when eating. Month 3 was the same, and I could eat almost all foods without discomfort. And now it has been 4 months since double-jaw surgery! Since I’m undergoing orthodontic treatment, other than food getting stuck a little, I have no discomfort from the surgery at all.
