This is a 6-month postoperative review after 3 types of facial contouring + cortical bone reduction at Yang Yoon-dol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Since I was young, I had a complex about my protruding lateral cheekbones, long jaw, and facial asymmetry. So I really wanted to have surgery, and when I retired, I had more time and the opportunity, so I decided to go ahead with surgery. Personally, I felt an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic was a bit more trustworthy for facial bone surgery than a general plastic surgery clinic, so I decided to have surgery at Yang Yoon-dol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I wanted a natural look that was not excessive, so during the consultation I explained what I wanted and sent photos. On the day of surgery, I had the operation, woke up from anesthesia in the evening, and was discharged right away. After about 3 days, my face swelled up enormously like a balloon, but after about a week the swelling went down noticeably a lot. And for about 2 weeks, my throat hurt insanely badly ㅠㅠ I also could not open my mouth well, so I could not eat properly and lost about 5 kg over 2 weeks. I endured it thinking, “This much pain is nothing if it’s to become prettier..”! From 2 weeks later, after the stitches were removed, the throat pain disappeared and the swelling started going down rapidly. After about a month, it improved so much that people who did not know me would not have realized I had surgery. And my mouth gradually opened much more, so I ate really well and the weight I had lost came right back^^ After about 3 months, even close friends could not tell, the major swelling was all gone, and only slight residual swelling remained. I am currently at 6 months, and when the clinic checked the CT images, the bones had healed together nicely, and once the pins are removed, the bones were contoured so beautifully that you would not be able to tell I had surgery~! (I plan to have the pins removed at the 1-year mark haha) In conclusion, I am very, very satisfied! My lateral cheekbones are gone, my jaw became shorter, and with the cortical bone also reduced, my face changed from a peanut-shaped U-line to a V-line haha People around me all do not know I had surgery but say I became prettier, so I am very satisfied!
