A lot of people are afraid of removal because people commonly use the expression that it “collapses” after removal. I’m posting this so that if you understand what this means.. it may ease your mind even a little. You might think that if you remove it, the nose collapses and all the bones in the nose sink down. But if you had a strut placed in the columella, removing it does not mean the nose collapses. When the strut is removed, the alar cartilage in the columellar area is in a weakened state, so over time the height can become lower or it can bend. =>>> This is what people describe as “collapsing.”
