Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

1 month after double jaw + facial contouring surgery at a dental/oral-maxillofacial clinic! Sharing the before-and-after changes…

Since I was young, I was always uncomfortable because of malocclusion. When I smiled, too much of my gums showed, I couldn’t chew hard foods well, my teeth didn’t meet, and my mouth was always open, so it was a big complex. So I had always thought about surgery, but I was scared and couldn’t find the courageㅠㅠ Then I started thinking I really had to do it before it got any later, so I made a big decision. I trusted oral and maxillofacial surgery more than plastic surgery. Since facial bones are closely related to nerves and teeth, I thought it would be good to receive treatment all at once. Above all, Director Kim Jong-yoon’s confident explanation made me trust him! On the day of surgery, it ended late in the afternoon, and because of the anesthesia I barely remember anything. My throat hurt so much and it was hard to breathe, but I could only drink water after 4 hours, so it was really extremely difficultㅠㅠ I kept having nosebleeds too.. While hospitalized, because of the swelling and pain I could barely open my eyes, and since I could only breathe through my mouth, my mouth kept getting completely dry, so it was really hardㅠㅠ I was discharged on day 3, but my nasal congestion was severe, so I couldn’t sleep and I was out of it. It kept throbbing, I had a fever, and I had diarrhea too.. I think my mental state really got wiped out tooㅠㅠ Still, after 1 week, my condition slowly started coming back. The fever went down, some stitches were gradually removed, and the swelling went down very slightly. The wafer is still so uncomfortable and suffocating that I want to take it out quicklyㅠㅠ I’m not the only one who keeps touching it with my tongue, right? lol From week 2, I could eat soft foods little by little, so I felt somewhat better. I even ate strawberries, and I was truly so happy! But the back of my throat and the back of my head hurt so much that if I didn’t take painkillers, it was hard to moveㅠㅠ I thought it was because I kept sleeping sitting up, but I don’t think that was it.. I think overall my body just took a lot of strain. And now I’m at 1 month! My cheeks are still extremely puffed up, so I get startled when I look in the mirror lol It’s uncomfortable sleeping with elastics on, and because of the wafer I keep sleeping poorly every nightㅠㅠ Still, this period will pass too, right…? I hope the swelling goes down quickly and facial sensation comes back soon! I’m going to think of it as a time of patience and try to endure it well. I still can’t believe I decided on double jaw surgery and made it this far, but I’m enduring it thinking that someday I’ll be able to smile beautifully!
