<Before surgery><Before surgery 2><After surgery><After surgery 2>I lived without being too concerned about my appearance even though my face was long, but at some point, when I smiled, my philtrum started looking long and a lot of my gums began to show. I thought a long face can vary from person to person, but when a lot of gums show when smiling, I started thinking it didn’t look aesthetically good, and gradually I began smiling timidly, not smiling at all, or always covering my mouth with my hand. While looking for a solution, I heard that my gums showed a lot because of my long facial shape, so I decided on two-jaw surgery + facial contouring surgery!! The reason I chose EU Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was that I searched hard online and on YouTube, and it was the only hospital that had separately uploaded the parts I was curious about on YouTube and their blog, so I thought it was trustworthy. After seeing EU real reviews and so on, I trusted them even more and decided right away haha <Surgery progress> Day 1: After surgery, my throat was swollen so it was hard to breathe, and the pain was less than expected. Day 2: After laser treatment to reduce swelling, the pain decreased, but my throat hurt. My lips were dry, so I applied Vaseline often. Day 3: After discharge, I focused only on practicing fitting the wafer. The medication was given as pills, so it was convenient. Day 4: Facial swelling was severe, but there was almost no pain. I wet the tape with water and washed gently. Day 5: Still swollen, but recovering while living comfortably at home. Day 6: Swelling decreased a little, and I felt myself recovering while taking walks. Day 7: I heard tinnitus in my ear and had ear fullness; swelling was still present. Week 2: Stitches were removed, and I was told the swelling was going down quickly. Swelling in my nose and ears continued. Week 3: Swelling plateau, continued walking, and the stuffy feeling in my ears persisted. Month 1: Recovery was progressing well except for ear swelling. Facial swelling had also decreased, and I was surprised because I could clearly feel the change in my appearance. Since I’m a smoker, quitting smoking was stressful, but my family and friends’ reactions were very positive, so my satisfaction with two-jaw surgery was high. And <currently month 2> Compared to a month ago, the swelling has definitely gone down a lot. Especially around the cheeks, when I touch them with my hands, the hard feeling has decreased, and I can feel that they softly press in even with slight pressure. When I look in the mirror, my facial line is gradually becoming clearer, so I’m feeling the effects of two-jaw surgery even more myself. It’s really fascinating to see the facial contour naturally becoming refined. The reactions around me are also really good, so I feel proud. Friends saw me after a long time and told me a lot, “It doesn’t look obvious at all, and it turned out really naturally.” They also say my impression has become much softer than before haha. Honestly, I was worried it would look obvious that I had surgery, but now I barely have that concern. My sensation hasn’t fully returned yet, but I can feel the recovery speed, so I think it’s okay. Discomfort when speaking or eating has also decreased a lot, and the awkwardness when smiling is getting less as time goes on. It will need a little more time to fully recover, but I’m sufficiently satisfied with the progress so far. I’m even more excited because I think after another month or two, it will look more natural and most of the swelling will be gone.
