Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

4-month satisfied review of double-jaw surgery + facial contouring surgery!

I had been stressed about having a protruding lower jaw since middle school. I knew early on that it was not a problem that could be solved with orthodontic treatment alone, and I often heard that I needed double-jaw surgery. Even after becoming an adult, I only kept thinking about it every year, but with the expectation of a dramatic change after surgery and the thought that I should do it before it got any later, I decided to undergo double-jaw surgery at EU! I went to consultations at three hospitals in total, and Director Kim Jong-yoon at EU Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery examined me the most thoroughly and accurately picked up on the image I wanted! I felt confident that I would be highly satisfied not only for functional purposes but also aesthetically, and I really liked that they actually had an orthodontics department together, so as soon as I went for the consultation, they took dental impressions and examined everything very meticulously. I thought I would be able to receive post-surgery orthodontic treatment efficiently as well. After surgery, as time passed, I could feel that the swelling was continuing to go down, even if only very slightly, and every time I looked in the mirror, I became more and more satisfied with my changing face. I could eat soft foods quite well, and I had gotten quite used to the new changes around my mouth. I also diligently did mouth-opening exercises whenever I had time. After a little more time passed, most of the major swelling had gone down, and even though there was still some residual swelling in my cheeks or jaw area, it only felt like I had gained a little weight and did not feel foreign!! My mouth recovered enough to open wide, and I could eat not only regular meals but even soft meat without difficulty. I continued recovering while hoping my face would become more natural as soon as possible. Recently, the swelling has noticeably decreased, and as I started eating all the foods I had wanted to eat for a long time, I even wondered if I had gained weight rather than just recovering, but since the director said residual swelling can remain from 6 months up to 1 year, I am trusting that it is still swelling hahaha. Now I can gradually exercise within a reasonable limit, and I do not feel any abnormal sensation at all, so it feels no different from before! My mouth opens well enough to fit four fingers, and because I am undergoing orthodontic treatment after surgery, there is slight discomfort when chewing, but overall I feel completely recovered hahaha!!! These days, I am hoping the residual swelling goes down more while losing a little weight too :)
