I started orthodontic treatment in middle school, and I think it took about 2-3 years! I had one severe snaggletooth each on the upper and lower teeth, so I went in thinking I’d need extractions, but unusually, they created space by shaving the teeth. I’m not sure if there are many cases like this, but everyone around me back then seemed to have extractions. Overall, I’m generally satisfied with the result!! The snaggletooth was stressing me out. But if someone isn’t stressed about a snaggletooth or doesn’t necessarily need orthodontic treatment, I wouldn’t really recommend it The treatment period is long, and I feel like side effects such as black triangles are definitely present to some degree!
